New Super Mario Bros. U

Let's discuss the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. U for the Nintendo Wii U system here. As always, it's another return to the diverse world of the Mushroom Kingdom with Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad trying to foil Bowser's plans and rescue Princess Peach.

However, what's the twist this time? Bowser and his minions have taken over Peach's Castle and have tossed Mario, Luigi, and the Toads far away into the Kingdom. Does this mean the final battle is in Peach's Castle (never seen that before)? A return to the multiplayer experience of New Super Mario Bros. Wii though with a supposed new feel.

I personally think that this game does look interesting and it definitely does give a vibe similar to that of NSMB Wii. However, will it be enough to get me interested in getting a Wii U?

Probably not...but still it looks like a good game (though I wish Nintendo put more effort into it rather than just slapping NSMB Wii and putting in new extras). Still...I'm happy that Toad is playable again.

^Hey, I'm in the same boat Gangnam. No Wii U and my plans of getting one are probably very slim.

Even then...I personally don't think NSMB U would attract me enough to get a Wii U (maybe something like SSB Wii U might though). Though again, you never got NSMB Wii so I guess you probably have more right to be interested.

The new mario game sound pretty cool. I've beaten NSMB Wii like 3 times, once with my friends, so I hope this is at least a bit more challenging than before. I'll try it out once I get a Wii U (if i get it).

^I definitely agree on the difficulty level of the game. In single player, NSMB Wii was actually pretty easy (in fact, most newer Mario games feel a bit too easy for their own good these days :/).

However, there is that Boost Rush mode I have been hearing about that might make it a challenge (forces the screen to keep moving on and time speeds up too ).

Well What I don't get is how it is going to have 5 players this time. Really playing 2 co-op was hard/crazy enough for me. The intro is funny though, they get thrown away. And I don't know, maybe I'm just bad at the games but NSMB Wii was challenging for me. Eventually I was able to beat win, but I never beat it because I never got all the star coins. The 3d mario games are easy (Super Mario 3d Land, Super Mario Galaxy, etc.) but the traditional 2d ones are challenging for me.

I'd like to talk about Wii U, but I feel that should get it's own topic/discussiong post.

^It is odd how Nintendo is putting the fifth player into use now. However, I'm thinking that it's just an excuse to give the Wii U tablet more gameplay purpose than ever.

It looks amazing.I am so going to play the game once i get a Wii.U.It dose look interesting with all the new stuff they added.i can't wait to get the Wii.U.

New Super Mario Bros. U has just been released over the weekend here in North America along with the Wii U system! Perhaps some of you have already gotten both!

I'll leave this topic in this section for a while here (before moving it to the Super Mario section) since there is still time for the game to be released in other parts of the world. Also it's a new game, so why not.

Awesome, I'd love to play it... but i ain't gonna buy that console, lol it's probably not gonna be released here for another 10 years. xD
