Pokémon constellation project Empty Pokémon constellation project

Post by Ospreyeagle Thu Jan 17, 2013 8:36 pm

Welcome to the Pokémon constellation project!
There are 88 constellations in the sky. Here is a list. I will be adding more and more, so check back or I'll bug you to death.

Anyway, they're Pokémon for Antarcticiss, my made-up region. It's why most of them are ice and flying (as well as star) types, so don't bug me about that. Seriously.

    Name:Andromeda
    Pokémon constellation project Andromeda
    Type: Star/Ground
Description: Andromeda is a mythological character, the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia. She was chained to the rocks because of her mother’s boastfulness. Cepheus, the king went to an oracle. The oracle said she had to be sacrificed to the sea monster, Cetus. She was chained to the rocks but was rescued by Perseus, who turned Cetus into stone by showing it the head of Medusa (Stars and Planets, pg. 132). I’m not sure why I used Linoone as a base for her. I'm not sure why I put an alpha symbol on her at first, but she is the first constellation when put in ABC order.
Pokedex: Said to be a counterpart to Linoone, because of her shape. She has an Alpha symbol on her right side.

    Antlia

    Type: Star/Psychic
Description: Boötes is a herdsman. It contains the fourth brightest star in the sky, Arcturus. Boötes is one of forty-eight of Ptolemy’s constellations. I decided to make it part psychic since he is a herdsman.

He taught hunting, medicine, and music to the offspring of gods. His star pupil was Asclepius, the son of Apollo. Chiron was immortalised among the stars after Hercules accidentally shot him with a poisoned arrow (Universe, pg. 382).
Possible candidate: A Radidash with a Sawk’s body.

    Cepheus (I pronounce it SEE-fuss)
    Type: Star/Ground
Description: Cepheus was a mythological king as well as the husband of Cassiopeia and the father of Andromeda. Zeus placed him in the sky after his tragic death because he was descended from one of Zeus’ loves, Io (Constellation Guide).
    Possible candidate: Nidoking

Awesome work Michelle! Smile Also wow...that's a ton of Pokemon to make.

You've really done your research for this mini-project, and so far your work looks amazing! Unique project indeed and keep up the great work (I've never seen something like tbh, so it's really unique imo).

Also good job with the descriptions and even references. Those are a nice touch. Smile Can't wait to see more of your Pokemon!
